š¶ I been gone for a minute, now Iām back at the jump off š¶ (Lil Kim voice š) Sometimes silence is golden with me š I talk too much š¤¦š½āāļøā¦ I havenāt posted in so longā¦ at least not on here, I still write a lot down in my notebooksā¦ Somethings are just better said in personā¦ Anyway, I decided to share about this past weekend!
So, Friday night (May 9) I attended Carley Fortuneās book signing for her new book āOne Golden Summerā! I truly enjoyed it! It was hosted by Blue Willow Bookshop in Houston! I was frustrated because I wanted to be there on time, I HATE being late; however, the series of events that caused me to be late was completely out of my control. Honestly, sometimes I need a reminder that things donāt always go as planned, I just wish that I could choose which situations and when for the lessons to occur but that would defeat the purpose. And when itās random, it puts my need to be a control freak in check (Iām crying laughingā¦ but itās trueā¦ like Iām not a control freak with everything but I have my moments.) Iām for sure still growing and learning as life continues to life and I was only 8-10 minutes late so, I did catch the majority of the conversation but, I didnāt want to miss any of it.
I was able to get my book signed too. I currently have two copies, one to read and one to go on my āToronto Stackā on my desk! I hold my books a certain way when I read because I donāt like for them to get a crease š©ā¦ whenever I see someone with a book wide open like pressed down wide open (Iāll have to find a picture of what Iām talking about.) Iām like the Donald Trump meme saying āTheyāre savage animalsā¦They are people that are sick, really sickā š¤£ Iām in tears because itās so true! Let me get back on trackā¦ So, the book signingā¦ Carley looked stunning! Sheās a natural beauty and I LOVED her dress! I did manage to tell her that, she said she loved my dress too! I had a lot more I wanted to say but I was not about to be the āChatty Cathyā holding up the line having everyone wanting to hit me over the head š and the event was super organized! I will definitely attend another one of her signing there! Like everything ran so smoothly and Carley interacted with the audience for Q&A it was really nice. There was a group picture that I missed because I had to step outside for an incoming call šā¦ but I did get a individual picture with herā¦ I donāt like my expression in the picture so I wonāt be posting that lolā¦ maybe Iāll crop me out and post Carley! Look the lady that was snapping pictures was not playing any games lol no countdown or nothing lol it was smile and snap lol š
Iām looking forward to finishing āOne Golden Summerā. When I read āEvery Summer Afterā I was likeā¦I want to drop kick Charlie for being such a jerk to his little brother Sam and taking advantage of Percy (Samās girlfriend) when she was so vulnerableā¦ I was likeā¦ This dude here (7th ward NOLA girl voice) I love when I read books and I have different feelings towards the characters. Carleyās books for sure gives all the feels š! Iām super excited about her fifth book that will be coming out next year I believe and she said it won’t have summer in the title lol but Iām here for the summer titles!

Carley’s nails make me think of some lyrics from a song by Trina… š¶ I got the sunflower yellow on the fingernails and the yellow Louie bag with the pastels! š¶ I’m pretty sure that’s how it goes it’s been years since I heard it.
